Immigration from Broughshane, Ballymena, County Antrim, Ireland from port Larne, Antrim, Ireland on the ship "James and Mary" arriving in Charlestown, South Carolina, United States 18 Oct 1772. Apprenticed under Jeremiah Theus 1772-1774 in Charlestown as a Portrait Painter. Formed Alexander Peden Portrait Painters in 1774 which continues today.
